In accordance with GDPR, this privacy notice sets out how Look North Grooming & Training Centre Ltd (Look North) uses and protects personal data that you provide.
What data do we hold?
If you have contacted us by email or social media with an enquiry about grooming courses or pet grooming services, we may hold the following information:
- Telephone number
- Email address
If you book an appointment for grooming services your personal details including your address are transferred to paper files and are NOT held on computer. Any emails previously sent or received will be deleted unless otherwise agreed in writing.
If you book a training course with Look North, we will require the following information which will be held on computer:
- Home address
- Telephone number
- Date of birth
- Email address
Emergency contact details will also be required for which a permission slip will be sent with the booking paperwork. This will need to be signed by the emergency contact and returned when you arrive for your first day. This information will NOT be held on computer but in paper form only.
We will also need to be informed of any medical condition(s) that may be of concern during your time with us. These will be noted on a medical disclaimer form during your induction on the first day of the course. This information will NOT be held on computer.
Who do we share your data with?
If you are a customer of the pet grooming services, your data will not be shared with anyone. The contact information will be available only to the staff at Look North who all comply with the data protection laws.
If you are completing a grooming training course which includes a City & Guilds qualification, your personal data i.e. name, gender, date of birth and address will need to be shared with Summit Groomer Training Group Ltd (Summit)and City & Guilds in order to register you for the appropriate qualification.
If you have a medical condition that may require extra time or a reader during exams, the details of this condition will be provided to Summit and City & Guilds for them to determine the amount of help that can be allowed.
If, during your course, you require a change of name due to marriage or divorce to ensure the correct name on your qualification certificate, a copy of your marriage certificate or divorce information will be required. This will be held on computer by Look North, Summit and City & Guilds.
How long will we hold your data and how will we keep it safe?
Personal data for customers of the pet grooming services will be held for as long as you remain a customer. After this time your information will be destroyed.
Personal data for grooming students will be held for 10 years. Paper files will be kept secure under lock and key and computer files are protected by the appropriate technological security processes that are in place and renewed annually. Only the management of Look North has access to the computers at 2 Henry Street.
What are your rights?
In accordance with the data protection legislation you have the rights to the following:
- Amendment of your personal data
- Erasure of your personal data
- Notification regarding amendment or erasure of your personal data
- The right to withdraw your consent to hold information
